Jesse Quiroz (Coach Q)

Jesse Quiroz
SMBC Club Owner & Founding Director
12-1 Head Coach
Head Coach of 12's Division
We play in loving memoy of coach Q. Our coach, our mentor, our friend. "Dream It, Believe it, Acheive It". August 23, 1951- March 14 2011.
Founding Director Jesse Quiroz knows a little something about coaching: as the long-time Head Varsity Coach for the Girl's Program at Harvard-Westlake High School, his teams captured a record eighty-eight straight league victories between 1992-2001, eight straight Mission League Titles, seven CIF Southern Section Titles (not to mention multiple runners-up), and three State Championships (1995, 2000, 2001). He has been named CIF "Coach of the Year" four times and in 2010 he was named "Coach of the decade."
As the Head Girl's Varsity Coach at Campbell Hall High School Coach Q continued his winning ways, guiding the squad to the CIF Finals in the fall of 2008 and a CIF southern section title in 2010. "To me, this is the big dance," Campbell Hall coach Jess Quiroz said after his team claimed the section title. "This is what's it's all about. Anything after this is just icing on the cake."
As Head of the SMBC 12's Division, Jesse oversaw the development of our club's youngest players with an emphasis on basic skills training and love for the game of volleyball. He has guided his 12-1 teams to more than five straight Sweet Sixteen finishes at the Volleyball Festival. He has coached several current SMBC coaches (all SMBC alumni) and is the founder of the SMBC girl's program.
"Q", as he is affectionately known, will be forever loved.
